Thanks for all the advice on yesterday’s post. I still haven’t made up my mind, but will do so before I get there. I’m leaning towards a heavy discount approach, though. I do appreciate all your thoughts.

And such pretty blue eyes they are, too. I’m not done sorting through the images from her photo session, but I think this is my favorite shot from the session, so far. The interaction between DK and her mom was just precious to watch and, occasionally, I had all my settings where they needed to be and the lens focused to come up with a keeper shot.

This is little DK – isn’t she just the cutest little thing? I met DK and her mom at the park last night for a quick photo session. First thing I told her mom was that I’m not a poser, we’ll just let her play and see what happens. Good thing, because I don’t think she would have sat still for anything posed. She was just delightful and so happy to be at the park, playing on the slide and swings, that she made it really easy. This was the first shot taken and I think it’s a keeper.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments yesterday about my website and Etsy shop. I got an email last night with some excellent feedback – thank you!! I’ll be working on the suggested changes really soon. Marcie, I’ll send you an email with details.

Click on the photo above to open the viewer, then on each small image to open the larger image.

Processing the images from the photo shoot for this young man turned out to be a bit of a challenge. Computer issues contributed to a great deal of those issues, plus Buster’s need for lots of play time to work off some of his excess energy, all in the interest of saving my home from destruction. Sunday night everything was finally done. Hallelujah!

I dropped off a CD with the high resolution files last night after work, along with a print release form to take to a printer and a price list, just in case they want to purchase through me. I haven’t heard from them today, but they were sure impressed with the CD. I really wish I’d thought to take a photo of the disc, because it looked pretty dang cool, thanks to LightScribe.

If you have a LightScribe enabled computer, you can personalize the discs that you present to your client, giving the disc (and you) a polished and professional appearance. First you burn the files onto the disc, then you flip the disc over and burn on the label. I included my neighbor’s name, date of the photo shoot, two images with a border, and for this client, a brief print release statement there, as well. For a low resolution disc, you could put your copyright notice instead, or whatever you want.

When it comes time to replace my laptop, which might be real soon from the way it is acting, I will make sure I get one with LightScribe again. Well, that might be a while. I just priced out a new laptop with all the upgrades I want. Sticker shock!!

Yes, that’s me. My first attempt at a self portrait. Thank goodness for Lightroom, let me tell ya! I got a surprise phone call from a friend that I hadn’t talked to or seen in quite a while. When I answered the phone, I was greeted by laughter, but I immediately knew who it was without a word being spoken. Do you have friends like that?

It was fun talking and catching up a little bit. We continued that through a series of text messages yesterday. The subject of aging came up. My friend’s grey hair and wrinkles. My curves, which weren’t as curvy the last time my friend saw me. But, as you can tell, I have my share of grey and wrinkles as well. The grey doesn’t get any worse than this and I refuse to color it – each strand of grey was earned and I wear it proudly. And a face without wrinkles is a face that hasn’t lived. At least that is what I keep telling myself. I really could do without the frown lines, though, which are from squinting from the sun. People think I’m mad when I’m not, because of them. At least I’m not as curvy as I was a few months ago – I’ve lost a little over 20 pounds so far. Yay me!

My friend wants to see a photo, which is part of the reason I attempted this self portrait. I’ve been thinking about how to set it up for a while, but just didn’t have the motivation to actually do it. I set my camera up on my tripod in front of my desk, used my USB cord and hooked it up to my laptop to take the shots, and focused it on the chair. The images are a tad soft, but how do you focus on a subject that isn’t there? I think soft works, with a little clarity adjustment to soften it just a bit more. Celebrities aren’t the only ones who can have a soft focus to de-emphasize the wrinkles, you know. Buster was watching me the whole time, confused as to what was going on. He could hear the camera taking the picture, but I wasn’t behind the lens when it happened. I think I was laughing at Buster in this shot and I managed to get some interesting ones because of my interaction with him while I was shooting.

One thing I do know…I really need a hair cut. And some makeup.
