Yesterday was not a productive day in the sense that I got a lot of work done in the yard and the grass seed planted, but it was productive.  While waiting for it to warm up a bit before going outside yesterday morning, I was catching up on blogs and just about the time I was ready to go out and get started, it started to rain.  And rain.  And rain some more.  It rained all day long.  Not a hard rain, but enough of a rain that working in the yard was pointless and today the ground is too wet to work.  I did make quite a bit of progress on my glass website, though, so the day wasn’t wasted.

The evening got away from me last night.  I’m not sure where all the time went, but before I knew it, it was 11:30 p.m. and I didn’t have my post written for today or even have a chance to visit everyone else.  That is the first thing on the agenda today.  After that I’m working on the back yard.  One thing I did work on last night was finding a different gallery plug-in that would work and not cause issues, as I found out the last one did.  Please let me know if you have any problems – if so, I’ll continue my search, but so far I’m liking this one.

Do you ever feel like nothing seems to go right?  You keep hitting your head against a brick wall?   You keep running into stumbling blocks and waiting for the other shoe to fall?  Can I think of any more cliches?  Why do we have cliches?  Because they are full of truths.

When I was trying to sort out my computer / internet issues I felt like I was hitting my head against a brick wall.  None of the things that I tried doing were working, from the instructions of the tech support people to the helpful emails from friends here and on another forum I frequent.  Nothing.  Nada.  My forehead felt bruised and battered.  I lost sleep.  Okay, now that was stupid.  But then a new modem was installed and the problem was solved.  Then last night when I went to restart my computer it shut itself off.  Three or four times.  And that was after doing a hard drive test that passed with flying colors.  Ha!  There was that brick wall again.  But I didn’t give up and the computer eventually restarted. (Yes, my photos are backed up on an external hard drive. Are yours? )

The Confused Husband left a comment here a couple of weeks ago, as a new visitor to my blog, so I went for a reciprocal visit to check out his blog and thank him for the nice comment.  What I found there was not what I was expecting.  I thought it would be another photo blog, but it was far from that.  The first post I read was his most recent and I was intrigued, so I went back and started at the beginning of his archives.  What I found was a man pouring his heart out for the world to see.  What I read touched my heart.  His marriage was in trouble.  His life had hit that proverbial brick wall.  He felt bruised and battered.  And he was processing it through his writing.  And taking responsibility for his part of the trouble.  As another commenter there said, it is a beautiful blog and very insightful - She Cheated On Me starts here.  Read it from the beginning - it is worth it. Yes, it is definitely in the details.  And paying attention.  And not vacuuming up power supply cords for routers.  I’m still not up and running yet at home, so I’m doing this during a coffee break at work.  Luckily I had an image uploaded already so I didn’t have to worry about that.  I’ve been getting emails and offers of help - I do so appreciate your support while I get this sorted out.  Christopher, I’ll be emailing you tonight.   I’ll try to have a new post tomorrow, but I don’t know when or if it will happen.

This is a detail shot of one of the crib elevators that I posted a short time ago.  Crib elevators are made with 2″ x8″ wide (maybe wider) pieces of lumber, laid flat and nailed to each other.  Kind of like Lincoln Logs using lumber instead of logs.  And using nails. Lots and lots of nails.  If that makes sense.

It was a really foggy morning.  Too foggy, really.  The barn is hard to see in this shot and you can’t even see the old school bus parked on the back side of the barn or the outbuildings and house that would normally be very visible from this perspective.  The fog was as thick as the proverbial pea soup.  And to make it even easier for you to see the barn I added some texture layers!!  Yeah!  Believe me, it helped.
