I found this mushroom, and three others just like it, growing in my bark mulch a couple of weeks ago or so. I have no idea what kind it is, so if you know, please let me know! It was a weekend day – a Sunday, actually, so I figured the traffic on my street would be light, so I went inside and grabbed my camera. I looked over my shoulder to see if there was anyone outside and there wasn’t – down I went on my belly to grab some shots. As soon as I was positioned to capture the mushroom I could hear cars and pickups driving by. I chose to ignore them and just hoped they wouldn’t see me lying still on the ground – I had a grungy, holey, brown sweater on…surely I blended in! Nope. Got to work the next day and one of the vehicles driving by was a co-worker who couldn’t decide whether or not I was dead or alive. He apparently slowed down to stop and check on me, but then saw my camera and drove on by, leaving me to concentrate on the task at hand.
Speaking of tasks at hand, Sunday is my day to post at Vision and Verb. I’ve been busy working on glass lately and I think I just might be writing about it. Unless I change my mind. Woman’s perogative, you know.
