I had my first ever experience on Monday of shooting with another photographer – Mr. Bob Towery was driving through town on his way to a workshop and we arranged to spend a few hours together. Bob told me it was up to me where we went – talk about pressure!! Have you seen where I live?? It’s a small town in the middle of farm land! The closest town of size (around 6,000 – is that considered sizable?) is 25 miles away (and where I work – don’t want to go there on a day off!). Bob likes architecture. We don’t really have architecture in my town.
We started off with breakfast and then headed out of town – about 15 miles north and got some shots of an old tumble down building that was actually the first image I ever posted (architecture!), and just a few hundred yards down the road was a tumble down garage with a tumble down pickup. Inside this tumble down garage was a prime example of repurposing – these Skippy lids are nailed to a shelf and the lids once held their jars which probably contained screws and nuts and bolts and nails and other odds and ends that you find in garages. I thought they were kind of cool. It will be interesting to see what images Bob got from the day and how they compare to mine – if he saw things the same way I saw them. I’m guessing there will be some similarities and some differences. When do you get home, Bob?

Toni, what a great story and image with excellent DOF to go with it. I have since bookmarked Bob’s site for future viewings.

This is a great image; I like the dof and the subject. This brings back memories; my father used to do this in his workshop.
Original shot and great work with dof.

First, I LOVE that photo. Second, I am in SERIOUS ENVY that you got to go on a photo shoot for fun with another photographer!! Unbelievably cool. Third, I would be in the same boat living in the boondocks where I do.

I love getting together to shoot with other Flickr members. In fact, we’re planning a tour of Eastern Oregon for later this summer. Nice shot here!

It looks like you found a great place to stop…and yes, I love the words whence also!
There’s nothing like shooting with another photographer..they totally get it when you want to pause for a half hour or so to take a few pictures…anyone without a camera in their hands wouldn’t want to linger so long!
I love the DOF in this image. Great eye.
