For those who might be new to my blog, I am based in the Columbia Basin of Washington state. I love using natural light to capture agriculture, flowers, and the world around me. I also do portrait and pet photography, as the occasion arises.

Which came first?

March 31, 2010

This is inspired by Candace and somebody else whom I can’t remember.  Candace is taking an online course on photography somewhere and if you go check out her blog you’ll find out where.  Her first assignment was to photograph some eggs and since I’ve pretty much drained my archives I thought I’d give a shot at some eggs…get it?  shot?  I’m just full of awful puns lately.  If I remember correctly, the assignment was to photograph the egg on a white background and a black background, then I think you could do whatever you wanted.  My favorite shot is the lower left of the solitary egg against the black.  It’s almost SOOC, with just a little clarity and contrast adjustment.

Those are great! I don’t know what it is about eggs but they’re about the most photogenic things ever. I guess there’s not much of a market for egg photographers, though, huh? Oh-oh, that was a bad pun, too…egg, market…well, nevertheless, your shots are eggcellent.

The 4 week photo workshop is at http://candcphoto.blogspot.com/

They do them every few months and they’re fun.

My very first assignment in my very first high school photo class was to do 20 different pix of eggs. I guess it’s industry standard?? Love how you’ve put these together…:=)

Christina at Soul Aperture posted eggs recently too.

You both have inspired me. One of our assignments for Persisting Star’s photo class last year was to photograph eggs. That was the one assignment that I was just not inspired for .. I had no creative ideas and my eggy photos were turning out spectacularly badly. I might try again now.
