Pea Picking

June 29, 2009

pea-harvest

I am so tired of websites.  I think most of you were aware of the commenting issue over the weekend.  Got that fixed last night by installing a different template, that is an upgraded version of the other one.  This new one has a flash banner, which is not working on my computer at home.  I’m crossing my fingers that it works for you and will work when I get to my day job.  I usually don’t have these kind of issues.  I’m tired of issues!!  At least the comments are working.

B called yesterday afternoon and asked if I wouldn’t mind coming out to the farm later in the evening to take some shots of pea harvest.   There were at least 10 combines in the field, if not 12.  As long as they had trucks at the field, it moved along really quickly.  I got some nice sunset harvest shots and have over 100 new images to process.  I even switched over to manual mode, so I’ll probably have more than usual to trash.

I’m glad your comment box is fixed! I’ve tried several days to leave you a comment, with no success. You’ll get the web site stuff fixed. It’s been a few years since I built a web site, but found it to be one of the most challenging things I had ever tried with the computer. My simple little blog is a piece of cake in comparison.

Goodness, that’s an awful lot of peas! Are the majority frozen after picking?

Sorry that I missed answering you, Uhdd! Yes, the majority are frozen. If I remember correctly, the #1 grade are frozen, and the #2 are canned, but I could be totally wrong on that.

Well, it was either that or leave it at Hello my name is Tofurious! I thought that might be a bit confusing. ;) I’ll get it replaced soon, Terry.

this is a fantastic image. Hard to believe crops are being harvested but that’s the beauty of the ‘net — learning about the huge differences in our world.

I sure hope you get things fixed soon with your new Tofurious template — I found it way too complicated and difficult to ‘fix’ so I know what you mean about wanting this to be done. I know it’s all going to look fantastic once the troubles are all over with.

Anyway, I really love this photo today.

    Oh..um….ok…what was I gonna say?

Your website issues seem probably so big right now, but in 100 days, it will all be fixed I am sure. and then you will wonder what the big deal was. Lovely harvest shot. i bet it was hot working in the setting sun.

Your farm shots are making me eager to get back to the midwest later this summer and see all that beautiful farmland I used to think was boring and took for granted. You’re giving me a new appreciation for farm equipment.
