Pet Parade

April 29, 2009

pet-parade

ELK of red or gray depends on the day and Gayle of Planet M Files are hosting a Pet Parade today!  Too fun!!  When you are done here, head on over to the Pet Parade and follow the links under Mr. Linky to see all the other pets that have been posted today.

Here are my B-boys, Buddy on the left and Buster on the right.  When I was processing their photos, I gave them a soft and dreamy look so you, gentle viewer, might be beguiled into thinking that they are angels.  Did it work?  Well, if you’ve read my recent posts about Buster and the shredded comforter (did I mention the hole in the mattress?), you know he is no angel.  Buddy is also no angel, as he’s dug about three or four holes under my temporary backyard fence so that he could run free as a bird through my newly planted and watered grass seed (leaving giant paw prints throughout).  Actually it was the three dozen birds eating the grass seed that he wanted to freely chase, but still…there’s the paw prints to think about.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my B-boys to death.  They are both at my feet right now, one sleeping, the other chewing on something appropriate.  I wake up in the middle of the night to Buster nestled at my side, snorting and snoring, and I’m reassured.  When I get home from work, Buddy’s tail is wagging so furiously that it isn’t just his tail wagging, but his whole body.  And that makes it worth the occasional shredded comforter and the muddy paw prints, because comforters can be replaced and paw prints smoothed out.   Such unconditional love is priceless.

Toni, this a a great post! Your B-boys are the cutest. How true that our pets are not always perfect, but then neither are we! Thank you for joining in the Pet Parade. (Your link wasn’t working until a few minutes ago. I hope people check back during the day to see your boys!)

    Love, love, love this post!

Your B-boys would get along famously with my Leo. Lucy would watch the three of them being goofy with scorn.

And then she’d sneak in a little silly when they weren’t watching…

I like the names Buddy and Buster… and how they fit the pictures of these dogs so well. So Buddy chews things up… and Buster has a “i want to be free” spirit. They are great companions anyway! :-)

I love pets as long as they belong to other people. Looks like Buster is trying to make up his mind if He is going to pee on that flower or not.

Your pictures are wonderful. Pets are wonderful and it is the nice and sweet things they do that make us forget and accept all the not so terrific antics that they get up to.
