For those who might be new to my blog, I am based in the Columbia Basin of Washington state. I love using natural light to capture agriculture, flowers, and the world around me. I also do portrait and pet photography, as the occasion arises.

Love and Chrysanthemums

Chrysanthemum

Love and Chrysanthemums

Love is like the growing of chrysanthemums.
The process is painstakingly cumbersome,
but the final product is beautiful.
Like the chrysanthemum, whose odor some
find unappealing, love can come from the
most unlikely of sources.
It takes an open heart and an open mind
to sense the overwhelming presence of love.
You know it is there, because your soul is
rejuvenated, and your heart races, and your
palms sweat, and you feel dizzy…
But we are burdened by the stereotypes and
biases of a cruel society.
And we rob ourselves of the best providence
has to offer, going through life like a
rudderless ship.
Can chrysanthemums teach us about love?
