For those who might be new to my blog, I am based in the Columbia Basin of Washington state. I love using natural light to capture agriculture, flowers, and the world around me. I also do portrait and pet photography, as the occasion arises.

Scallops and Lace

March 31, 2009

Scallops & Lace

More coverage than a Dancing with the Stars costume!

I wrote that sentence last night while watching Dancing with the Stars and I’m always struck by how skimpy some of the costumes are, especially the ones worn by the professionals.  To be honest, sometimes I’m a bit jealous of their gorgeous, toned bodies, which they are completely comfortable in showing off.  Most of the time I’m afraid of an impending wardrobe malfunction.

Can you believe that this new year is already through the first quarter?  Where has it gone?  What have I accomplished?  I have lost some weight, but I haven’t started my exercise routine.  I have all my paperwork, but I haven’t done my taxes.  I have 50 lbs of grass seed, but I don’t have it planted.  I have some pretty pots and seeds, but I don’t have them planted.  I have some of my photos printed, but I don’t have them framed and hung.

So many things started, but not completed.  I need to work on doing  just that this second quarter.

Maybe I’ll start tonight when I get home from work.

an ideal and creative title for this beautiful macro. I too love all the flourishes in what is simple food … lovely colours, shapes, and detail. So beautiful.

I loved your post — after I read about things unfinished, it made me realize that I too have many things started but not completed.

    Lovely post and image Toni!

I think as the summer rays begin to bathe our skins, we come alive again and in that part of the year we are inspired and ready to face challenges more than the winter when our natural insinct is to curl up and hibernate.

A bit of sun and fresh air, and we start to smile again.

A delighteful photograph, so beautifully captured

Gilles is the best dancer that I have seen to date on the program. He’s absolutely incredible, and at this stage of the competition.

I know just how you feel, Toni. I sometimes worry that I will leave this world with all sorts of started but never finished projects. It’s downright embarrassing to think about.
