For those who might be new to my blog, I am based in the Columbia Basin of Washington state. I love using natural light to capture agriculture, flowers, and the world around me. I also do portrait and pet photography, as the occasion arises.

One scoop or two?

March 28, 2009

Elevator Scoops

The evening got away from me last night.  I’m not sure where all the time went, but before I knew it, it was 11:30 p.m. and I didn’t have my post written for today or even have a chance to visit everyone else.  That is the first thing on the agenda today.  After that I’m working on the back yard.  One thing I did work on last night was finding a different gallery plug-in that would work and not cause issues, as I found out the last one did.  Please let me know if you have any problems – if so, I’ll continue my search, but so far I’m liking this one.

These shots are of some scoops from one of the old crib elevators that I’ve posted before.

That’s a great collection … the last one is my favorite. The colors and lines… trying to figure it out.

What will you be doing in the backyard? I’ve been working outside a bit too… weeding, cutting things back & planting the garden. Love the warmer – but not HOT weather!

Good morning, MA!! I’m going to be putting in some edging around the yard and getting the area ready to plant some grass seed tomorrow. I had the back yard planted in grass, but it was mostly weeds, so I killed it out so I could replant it. The area in which I live is a recent development and it was all tumbleweeds and cheatgrass, plus a really sandy soil – very hard to get a good stand of grass started. My neighbors have tried several times, too.

Okay kiddo, here I was going to celebrate your very nice new header and format then I realized I could see those extra photos in a gallery! Wow, I envy you and how you know all this html stuff to better illustrate your beautiful photos. Now to the photos — these are really beautiful and you’ve used excellent technique in presenting them. Love each one. Bravo.

Thanks, Diane. I do like this theme better since I made some tweaks on it. I don’t really know html. It was all hit and miss, a LOT of redos and a lot of analyzing the code to see if I could figure out where the changes needed to be made. I’m used to WYSIWYG editors, which needs no code knowledge. And the gallery is a plugin which pretty much does all the work for me.

Am so impressed that you figured out how to do this ‘gallery’. Wonderful way to view your images. These ‘scoop’ abstractions are great. Love the blue lines in the last one.

Thanks, Paul. I’m glad you like the changes. I just found a plugin that lets you edit your own comments for when you have a typo. I ALWAYS notice a typo after I hit submit and wish there was a way to fix them. Hopefully this will come in handy here.

Well, no problems since we got that spam thing figured out! ;) These shots actually were done with my kit lens and NOT the Lensbaby. I’ve got some more flower shots coming up with the Lensbaby and without.

Time gets away from me like that too…every night actually, which is why I often stay up until about 1:00 AM which is not a good thing because I’m up by 6:00 or 6:30 AM no matter what time I go to bed. What were we talking about? lol…ah yes, your images. They all exceptional…not surprising:-)

I like this close, close up! I’ve been trying to get my posts ready the night before, but failed last night. So an early wake up has given me some time this morning. I know it’s not recommended, but I tend to get up early and stay up late! :-) That, of course, means a nap here or there!
