For those who might be new to my blog, I am based in the Columbia Basin of Washington state. I love using natural light to capture agriculture, flowers, and the world around me. I also do portrait and pet photography, as the occasion arises.

Nature’s diamonds

February 17, 2009

fog-frost2

water-drops-bokeh3

Last night was another one of those nights where I sat looking at this post waiting for some inspiration to strike.  I cooked supper, some salmon with penne tossed with sauteed mushrooms, carrots, spinach and finished with some pesto, just in case you were wondering.  I ate the salmon and stopped midway through the penne, but I couldn’t think of anything to write.  So I ate the rest of the penne.  So then I was stuffed.  I still couldn’t think of anything to write.  So I wrote this.  I’m sorry.  But I do like my title!

Don’t forget to comment on my blog anniversary post for a chance to win an 8″ x 10″ photo of your choice.

They really do look like diamonds. Real nice shot!

Your dinner sounds so good I wish you took a photo of that too :)

I like how the branch enters upper left in the first image. The second dropping two pieces is even more eye-catching for its unusualness.
    Fine post.

I adore the detail, particularly in the top image.

For dinner last night I made wiener schnitzel, whole wheat pasta with garlic and green onions, and sauteed mushrooms — it tasted better than it sounds :)
… just thought I’d echo your post ;~D

Love both the images, especially that they’re black and white.

I had a Turkey sandwich and Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream. Interesting looking little creatures you have floating around on your images, but Cool!

Yeah, I had some drops of water on my lens. I couldn’t keep it dry – the frost was melting off so quickly. Oh, and that Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream sounds good!!

Love your new site Toni, very professional looking. Excellent images, your monochrome processing is superb, great contrasts and details. Lovely image, great ambiance and DOF.
