Happy Anniversary to Me!

February 15, 2009

Misty Memories

Well, it’s really…Happy Anniversary to my blog!  Just one year ago I started this blog (originally hosted on WordPress) with the intention of posting a photo a day (yep, did that – well, some might have posted early) and to better learn my camera (that part of it took a little longer, and I’m not done with learning yet).  My photos have improved quite a bit over the course of a year, and if you are a glutton for punishment you’ll dig back in the archives and heartily agree with me.

Some of you have been with me from early on – and I appreciate you for sticking with me.  Some of you joined my blogging adventure a bit later than others, but that doesn’t mean I appreciate you any less.  I love all your comments and look forward to reading them all and visiting your blogs in return.  Each of you are inspirations to me.  Thank you all for joining me in this journey.

Anniversary Give-Away

To thank you for your continued visits and comments I’m having a give-away – an 8″ x 10″ print of either today’s image or the image of your choice (if you are brave enough to dig into the archives).  All you have to do is leave a comment – easy, peasy!!  Comments will be eligible until Wednesday night and I’ll announce the winner Thursday morning.  Thanks again!

Just an FYI, this image (and yesterday’s, too) was NOT taken with the Lensbaby, just my regular lens.

Congrats on your anniversary – that represents lots of pictures. I like the one today for its jewel-like look. Nice choice to shoot and you pulled it off beautifully.

    Congratulations on the anniversary.
    I love today’s image and I knew for certain it wasn’t a LensBaby :)
I like the droplets you focused on and the great use of dof. With all that bokeh you can almost ‘feel’ the damp air. Well captured.

May you have many more inspiring and creative years of blogging.

Happy anniversary and what a splendid new home! I can’t quite remember when I hooked up with your blog, was it when we got into a discussion about helibores and floating flower head in water? who knows, but it’s been a feast for the eyes, every day.
‘Your next mission; should you choose to accept’ is to immerse the whole flower in water in a glass vase, a goldfish bowl or cylinder shape, and then after a couple of hours capture all the pretty bubbles on the flower along with the curves, distortions and reflections from the water and glass…….. LOL
