For those who might be new to my blog, I am based in the Columbia Basin of Washington state. I love using natural light to capture agriculture, flowers, and the world around me. I also do portrait and pet photography, as the occasion arises.

A tree in the mist

February 9, 2009

A tree in the mist

A tree in the mist, two

My titles are so clever aren’t they?  I had a very good photography weekend, starting off with the drive home on Friday night.  Yesterday’s image, today’s, and a couple for future posts were all from Friday night.  I took seven images and will be using five of them, depending on how the portrait orientation works with the home page gizmo.  Tons of images taken on Saturday, and while the usable percentage wasn’t nearly as good, I’ve got some pretty good shots to post.  Stay tuned for them.

Also, stay tuned for my blog anniversary, which is coming up on the weekend.  There will be a give-away in celebration of my one year anniversary.

If you visited the site over the weekend, you probably saw several different looks to the blog.  I wasn’t completely happy with the site design that I was using.  It was very busy and kept the focus away from my photos.  I still wanted the widgets – the bits of information in the side columns, just wanted them someplace else.  I think this new design works.  Let me know what you think – good or bad!

Bonus image – I’m just not sure how the home page will handle the portrait image, so today you get two.  This is a full capture of the above tree.

I like the fine quality the mist imparts to the tree shots. A beautiful silhouette with varying amounts of blur results. Fine posts.

I really love the top photo — that is ace! I love the mist, the fence posts and your placement of them in the frame, and the soft rolling hills in the distance too. The whole image is so fantastic (even if I’m not a fan of LensBaby) :~) It looks like you really got some great shots on Friday. If there was a fave button, I’d be fave-ing that top image for sure!

Merci pour votre visite et commente. La brume était vraie, mais peut-être vous vous référez à l’effet du Lensbaby.
