And we’ve arrived. I’ve been thinking about moving my blog to my own domain for a while now and finally decided to just do it. I’d been admiring several sites that were using PixelPost to power their blogs and had thought that was the way I was going to go. I added this new domain to my web hosting account, which only took about ten minutes – it used to take three or four days, and then I installed the PixelPost software on my website. I started uploading my first blog post and was looking around and realized there was no easy way to edit the About page, in fact I couldn’t find the About page anywhere in the control panel, and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to figure it out. I finally checked the forums and realized that I was going to have to jump through some hoops to edit it. I decided I didn’t want to figure out how to go about all that and, besides, I really liked WordPress so I installed it instead. Now, you might wonder why bother getting my own domain if I was going to stay with WordPress software anyway. Well, there are a lot more options available for themes that can be downloaded on your own domain than are available on a WP hosted blog. Lots of cool little things, too, like the Comments Luv plug in that shows your last blog post if you leave a comment. So leave comments and see some luv!
It’s late – I’m writing this last night. It’s after midnight, so I’m going to bed, but this won’t post til morning. Maybe I’ll write more then. Thanks for following me over here and don’t forget to update your bookmarks and blogroll links! Thanks, again.

Congratulations! Looks amazing!
Congrats on your move. I love the layout and look. I used WordPress.org software for years and truly love it. This past year my life has become very busy so I became a little lazy and made the opposite move from you.. I ventured over to WordPress.com. So far it is working out well but I do sometimes miss the control I had. Wishing you all the best and lots of fun.
Congrats on the moving..the U-haul truck, it’s so very appropriate
Still moving around your new domain but loving the layout of it so far

Hey Toni
Love the new site….I’m sure it opens up a whole new world of opportunity for you. I can imagine it being a great way to sell you photos if you ever decided to do that.
Anyway…thanks for all kind words. Hopefully I’ll be back blogging soon

Thanks, Donna! One of the things I am excited about is exactly what you mentioned – the possiblilty of selling some images. Just need to figure out how I want to do it – I’ve been researching different possibilities. Not sure anyone would want to buy them though!!
Happy moving day!
It looks like you were able to connect all your old posts with this domain too? I will have to remember that. I do love WordPress.
elizabeth’s last blog post..I call him my little puppy
There are a couple of ways to do it, Elizabeth. I could have just pointed the WP blog to the domain and I wouldn’t have had to really do anything, if I understand all that right. I might not, though.
What I actually did, though, was export the posts from WP and then imported them to the domain. There were a few glitches and I had to contact support – not all of the posts imported, so it took a few times of trying to get them all here. Then I accidentally deleted a few and couldn’t get them to reimport. Ugh. I hope you followed all that – I’m not sure I did!
Well congratulations, Toni, the new site looks rather super.
Congratulations are indeed in order. Surely wish that you would double up and join aminus3.
Thank you, Jack. I’m not sure I want to maintain two sites. I’ve already got a glass website and blog that I ignore.
My first thought was to wonder how it is you managed to get a pixelpost template to look like this. So glad you explained. It looks great!!! It looks like a perfectly well-thought out and designed site. Well done!! And – love your ‘moving’ truck. Perfect!!!!
Great new site Toni. Good luck and I know you will provide us with more fascinating images.
