And we’ve arrived. I’ve been thinking about moving my blog to my own domain for a while now and finally decided to just do it. I’d been admiring several sites that were using PixelPost to power their blogs and had thought that was the way I was going to go. I added this new domain to my web hosting account, which only took about ten minutes – it used to take three or four days, and then I installed the PixelPost software on my website. I started uploading my first blog post and was looking around and realized there was no easy way to edit the About page, in fact I couldn’t find the About page anywhere in the control panel, and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to figure it out. I finally checked the forums and realized that I was going to have to jump through some hoops to edit it. I decided I didn’t want to figure out how to go about all that and, besides, I really liked WordPress so I installed it instead. Now, you might wonder why bother getting my own domain if I was going to stay with WordPress software anyway. Well, there are a lot more options available for themes that can be downloaded on your own domain than are available on a WP hosted blog. Lots of cool little things, too, like the Comments Luv plug in that shows your last blog post if you leave a comment. So leave comments and see some luv!
It’s late – I’m writing this last night. It’s after midnight, so I’m going to bed, but this won’t post til morning. Maybe I’ll write more then. Thanks for following me over here and don’t forget to update your bookmarks and blogroll links! Thanks, again.
